Durban Club Place

Durban Club Place The Professional Quarter is a project by urban regeneration specialists Urban Lime. Durban Club Place is a new professional quarter, located in the heart of Durban’s central business district. Contemporary offices, an elegant members club, restaurants and eateries, bespoke retail and beautifully designed public spaces all a stone’s throw from the legal courts and City Hall.

Two buildings – Six Durban Club Place and Durban Club Chambers (the former Netherlands Bank Building) form the corner-stones of the quarter and collectively offer just over 23,000 sq. m. of space. Both buildings were built in the late 60’s and 70’s by celebrated architects and showcase iconic modernist architectural features which are being restored, renovated and brought up to date. All office spaces, reception and public areas are being restored, renovated and updated with the latest design, materials and technology. Durban Club Place will be celebrating its history as the famed legal quarter of KwaZulu-Natal whilst being infused with Twenty First century services and modern design.

Durban Club Place is next door to the Masters Office and City Hall and is just five minutes’ walk from the High Court. A High Court shuttle service offers a chauffeur, 6-seater air-conditioned Mercedes Viano which runs throughout the day during court hours.

Six Durban Club Place is a modernist building that is of great importance to the legal and judicial system, housing the majority of advocates in KwaZulu-Natal and the Society of Advocates of Natal. The building consists of three towers built in 1958 showcasing a strong contemporary, modernist architecture, and comprises 138 office spaces from 23 SQM upwards, which are available to applicants approved by the Six Durban Club Place Housing Committee. Six Durban Club Place exclusively houses legal practitioners, advocates and many prestigious law firms, including the majority of the Durban Bar. The building also houses the KwaZulu-Natal Bar, a constituent Member of the General Council of the Bar.

Renovations to Six Durban Club Place include upgrades to all common areas, a new reception area and roof-top coffee shop and all-day eatery, 24-hour security and CCTV plus the latest fibre optic cable offering state-of-the-art communications.

Chambers Club is Durban’s most exclusive private members’ facility in the heart of the CBD. On the fourth floor of Durban Club Chambers the club is available for professional members who base their business in Durban Club Place. Access is available for members’ clients and guests with a limited number of corporate and private memberships available to the public on approval by the membership committee.
